How much does the program cost?

We have decided , as a general policy, not to charge any monthly or annual fees in the future. Full access to all of our resources from the beginning of Term 1 2026 will be a once-off cost of $950 excl. per school, which is more affordable than buying textbooks for all of your students. Our old price of $750 excl per school will no longer apply.

What makes the Money Minds financial literacy training program different to other programs offered in NZ?

Each program is different because it is uniquely designed to meet the specific requirements of each secondary school that places an order, based on several factors.

If the program qualifies for NZQA credits, how do we assess the students?

Accepted Answer

Money-Minds is not a typical “learning subject.” It is more experiential than just gathering and remembering facts. To earn credits the supervising teacher needs to simply ensure that the student has carried out the classwork tasks and completed the exercises and quizzes that are posed at the end of each chapter and that there is hard-copy evidence of this.

Will Financial Literacy soon become a compulsory inclusion in the Levels 1-3 national NZ school curriculum?

Most definitely. In a recent announcement the minister of Education stated that Financial Literacy shall be included in all
Social Science curricula AT ALL LEVELS from Term 1 of 2026. This includes Year 11-13 students.

We have such a busy curriculum already, how can we possibly fit another subject into the timetable?

We need to understand our primary purpose in educating our young people. It is to enable them to graduate from school and competently enter community life effectively. They may have dreams of being humble servants of society or high-powered executives, but without basic financial skills they will probably miss their primary calling in life and end up living highly frustrated lives. Do we have to teach the subject ourselves?

Each school will be required to deliver the course material themselves but supervision of the students during delivery can be reduced to the work of a monitor. Teachers will then be involved only in the initial presentation of the program, and the marking of the homework and classwork.

Question 7

How long will it take to deliver the course?

Accepted Answer

Our time budget relates to the crucial elements of delivery which will include instruction, PPT presentations and classwork, but excludes homework by the student and obviously assessment of the student. We believe that it can effectively be delivered over a ten-week period at a maximum of 2 hours per week
